Using our state-of-the-art IP communications platform, we can deliver the benefits of Timico VoIP for Business to your existing PBX.

What is a SIP Trunk?

Timico's SIP Trunk service, IP Voice Line, can be used to complement, or entirely replace, your existing ISDN or analogue lines as well as bring many of the other benefits associated with VoIP.

A SIP Trunk is a service offered by an ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider) that permits businesses that have a PBX installed to use Voice over IP (VoIP). SIP stands for Session Initiation Protocol and is an open multi-media signalling standard now used by most VoIP service and equipment providers.

The VoIP Gateway

In order for a PBX to utilise IP Voice Line, a VoIP gateway may need to be connected to both the ISDN ports on your PBX and to the SIP Trunk via the broadband line. It enables calls to pass seamlessly over IP Voice Line without any need to modify or reprogram the PBX. The gateway also allows IP Voice Line to be used in combination with ISDN lines on the same PBX.

What does this mean?

You do not have to invest heavily in hardware upfront and if you already have a PBX our engineers can seamlessly integrate IP phone calls through the PBX.
