The Timico MSP Partner Programme:
Managed IT providers and IT VARs looking to:
The Colt Car Company (CCC) was established as the sole UK distributor for Mitsubishi Motors in 1974. The company’s headquarters in Cirencester houses the customer Call Centre, management and administration personnel.
After seven years with its previous supplier, CCC decided its aged and inefficient Wide Area Network needed to be upgraded in order to meet increasing demands and to enable future requirements. Timico now provides CCC with a fully managed Private Wide Area Network (PWAN) to ensure a high level of security, data integrity and speed.
With a business grade core network in place and after four years with its previous supplier, CCC now needed to upgrade its voice system in order to bring the software up to date and meet increasing business demands.
"Following the PWAN upgrade we had a network capable of delivering advanced voice services and our existing voice system was now showing its age and highlighting inefficiencies" explains Stuart Smith, CCC IT Manager.
Specialist expertise was required for the voice upgrade so Timico brought in Axonex, a Timico Business Partner and Cisco recommended Advanced Unified Communications Specialist.
Axonex suggested CCC migrate to Cisco’s Workspace licensing model, which would give them increased flexibility with smart IP phones capable of providing advanced communication tools. The new system provides superior contact centre functionality and also improves the way CCC’s business tools communicate and collaborate.
"We needed the voice upgrade to take advantage of new features and functionality and improve our customer satisfaction levels. We were delighted to find that we got all this and much more including the ongoing technical support we had been lacking from our previous supplier," says Stuart Smith, CCC IT Manager.
The partnership between Timico and Axonex is built on a shared approach to delivering high quality customer solutions.
"The complementary knowledge and expertise that each party brings to the table ensures that the high standards of both businesses is maintained and that the right solution is delivered to customers," comments Steve Hodges, Director of Business Development at Timico.
"With a Timico connectivity solution we know we can be assured of a high quality, resilient network to support the systems we put in place," adds Jonathan Cox, Sales Director, Axonex. " This, combined with the service levels and technical competence delivered by both businesses, is fundamental to the implementation and support of any solution."
Mercury Security Management is a leading security company based in Belfast. They manage security for several major businesses across the city, with services ranging from security personnel to the implementation of advanced monitoring, tracking and alarm systems. Mercury's IT infrastructure is managed by Timico business partner, Leaf.
One of Mercury's key contracts is for Belfast's largest urban regeneration development, the Titanic Quarter where they deliver physical and CCTV security. They called on Leaf and Timico to assist with an issue in getting the IPCCTV service working at a very sensitive location on the Titanic Quarter site. Despite numerous site visits, the existing supplier had been unable to resolve a connectivity issue which was impacting on Mercury's ability to deliver for their customer.
Mercury needed 2Mbps of bandwidth, an Ethernet port to plug the CCTV camera into and a secure connection with a static IP address. Timico proposed a unique wireless connectivity solution which securely integrates Timico's next generation IP network with leading UK mobile operator, O2.
A 3G enabled router was installed, which transmits images wirelessly from the camera securely via Timico's private network without ever touching the public internet and without the need for a VPN client.
"BT had been out several times and had been unable to resolve the connectivity problem," comments Frank Cullen, Chief Executive of Mercury Security Management. "It was a breath of fresh air to deal with a company that looked at the issue from a totally different angle. By using a secure mobile internet connection, instead of relying on BT's copper, Leaf and Timico had the IPCCTV camera securely connected within two days and we were able to deliver what we had promised to a key customer."
"Of the many things we were looking for when selecting a connectivity partner, responsiveness and a proactive approach to issue resolution were at the top of the list," explains Steven Goldblatt, Managing Director of Leaf. "Whether we are working with Timico on the design of a complex network infrastructure, or something relatively simple such as the secure mobile internet service for Mercury, we know we'll get a great solution."
