Timico offers email services suitable for all sizes of business from 1 simple POP account through to secure IMAP and SMTP services for over 100 users.
Mailboxes
These are email accounts hosted on our servers to which your email client program (Mac Mail, Outlook, Eudora etc.) connects in order to pick up email. They can also be accessed using our
webmail interface. Mailboxes are suitable for most individuals and companies with a small number of users.
Our mailboxes support both POP and IMAP protocols for collecting mail as well as SMTP authentication which means that emails can be sent using our servers wherever a user is in the world. In addition we support SSL on each type of access to ensure emails and passwords are secure when you are using insecure networks such as wireless hotspots.
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) feeds
This is a protocol used for sending and receiving e-mail.
SMTP feeds are suitable for larger companies with the technical know-how and sufficient email users to warrant running their own mail server. The use of SMTP is generally recommended beyond about 10 or 15 individual mailboxes.
An SMTP feed can be set up on an individual domain so that any mail addressed to that domain will be automatically pushed straight to a specific fixed IP address where the customer will have a mail server waiting to pick it all up. Once the mail's got through, the mail server will then distribute it about the customer's network according to the rules they have put in place.
Email filtering (anti-virus & anti-spam)
Email borne computer viruses and unwanted mails can be a problem. All our mail products provide mail filtering services on each individual customer domain to eliminate the vast majority of these unwelcome messages and you can opt for our
Mailsafe product which will block all known viruses (100%), as well as protect against network attacks and filter up to 100% of unsolicited e-mails, therefore greatly reducing the misuse of both internet and business network bandwidth.
