Timico Wins Best Unified Solution at ITSPA Awards 2008

Newark, UK - December 12th, 2008 - Timico Group is delighted to announce that it has been honoured for its business strength Unified Communications service at the prestigious ITSPA Awards. At a ceremony held in the Members Dining Room at the House of Commons, Technology Director, Trefor Davies, was presented with the Best Unified Solution Award 2008, an accolade which underlines the Timico's leading position in the Unified Communications industry.

ITSPA (Internet Telephony Service Providers' Association) represents network operators, service providers and other businesses involved with the supply of VoIP services to business and residential customers within the UK and its annual awards recognise excellence in the UK VoIP and Unified Communications space. Entries from the UK's leading VoIP products and services were judged on reliability, user-friendliness, design, innovation, price and value for money and the winners chosen by distinguished panel of judges.

The Timico Unified Communications solutions combines its hosted VoIP for Business service, Managed Homeworker Services, PWAN data connectivity with ADSL/SDSL, co-location data hosting, SIP connectivity and fixed-mobile convergence solutions.

The VoIP for Business service, based on Nortel's AS5200 SIP platform, was launched 2006 and was the first to provide a full blown Unified Communications feature set, typically only then available in high-end Enterprise PBXs. The service now includes PBX with SIP trunks and a typical installation will have a PBX at HQ with hosted seats serving outlying offices and home-workers. Timico provides a single extension dial plan for the whole organisation irrespective of location and a complete range of UK geo/non-geo numbers. Timico VoIP for Business comprises a rich set of Unified Communications features including Presence, IM, teleworker collaboration, file sharing, multiparty conferencing and video. A wide range of handsets include Nortel, Cisco, Siemens and Polycom and a Microsoft Outlook client.
