TSG

Who are TSG?

Total Sound Group (TSG) help progressive national retailers create stimulating entertainment environments within their hotels, shops, restaurants, health clubs, and showrooms, through the use of dynamic point-of-sale, programmed music, audio messaging, ambient media, digital signage and music video.

What were TSG's requirements?

TSG were looking for expertise, advice and support in rolling out an ever growing broadband based Private IP Network.

The Private IP Network would allow for the vital provision of the QOS controls necessary to enable interactive, rich content services to be delivered, allowing the company to integrate video across all sites, providing a seamless service across the UK.

Future proofing of the network was also a very important consideration for TSG.

What was the solution provided?

The network of over 100 sites was rolled out across the UK via Timico's core network, with each site connected via a single broadband circuit, providing a complete managed Private IP Network to TSG.

It has now been operating successfully since 2002, and continues to grow with the flexibility to meet whatever demands TSG put on it.

Why did TSG choose Timico?

Mark Lawson, R&D Manager, TSG, wanted a technology partner who understood the big picture and who would work with them to build the right solution to fulfil their network requirements:

"Timico delivered in spades, when they proposed a broadband-based Private IP Network to meet the needs of TSG and our clients. The planned solution met all our requirements for a 99.999 data distribution network that is centrally managed via Timico's data centre suite in London's docklands"

TSG decided to go with Timico because of its flexible approach to the changing demands of business and its team's unrelenting commitment to service delivery.

The network Timico built for TSG is designed for true point to multi-point connectivity that enables the effective utilisation of bandwidth over the network for all applications, including quality of service (QOS) sensitive application data such a voice and video, which are critical to the processes of the business.

"Bringing new and additional sites online and having them up and running as quickly as possible was a priority to TSG that Timico met time and again. Timico's project panning meant that any issues that may have arisen on site were dealt with quickly and effectively."
