An analogue line is a basic fixed line, which uses a standard socket on the wall. These are often used as standalone fax lines, home offices or alarm lines and more recently as the 'bearer line' for an ADSL service.

With an analogue line you can simply plug in any type of regular phone directly into the socket. Analogue lines are capable of making and receiving one phone call at a time, auxiliary lines can be added to increase capacity. To enhance these products we offer additional services such as; call diversion, call waiting, call sign, call minder, ring back, reminder call, caller display, withhold number etc.

How does it work as an ADSL line?

When communicating over an analogue line, the voice is picked up by your telephone handset and sent down the phone line as an analogue wave. To use the line as an ADSL line, modems convert your computer's digital data into audible tones which can be carried down a standard analogue phone line. At the destination, another modem converts the sound back into digital data.
