Timico Fibre Broadband, also known as Fibre To The Cabinet or FTTC, is specially designed to help businesses meet the ever growing requirements of bandwidth-hungry applications. With download speeds of up to 40Mbps and upload speeds of up to 10Mbps, this technology offers the kind of performance previously available only via costly private data circuits.How does it work?
Fibre Broadband is delivered to your premises over a standard telephone line, just like ADSL. Unlike ADSL it utilises special equipment installed in your nearest BT street cabinet which is connected back to the local telephone exchange using high speed fibre optic cables. This means that the broadband signal only has to travel a short distance between your premises and the street cabinet and hence a much faster service is possible.
