Mailboxes

By choosing TimicoMail, we host your email on our servers to which your email client program (Mac Mail, Outlook, etc.) connects in order to pick up email. Mailboxes are suitable for most individuals and companies with a small number of users.

Our mailboxes support both POP and IMAP protocols for collecting mail and are accessible from any web browser. In addition we support SSL on each type of access to ensure emails and passwords are secure when you are using insecure networks such as wireless hotspots. Those with enhanced security offer antivirus and anti spam to further protect your data.

SMTP feeds

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) feeds are suitable for companies running their own mail server. The use of SMTP is generally recommended beyond about 10 or 15 individual mailboxes.

An SMTP feed can be set up on an individual domain so that any mail addressed to that domain will be automatically pushed straight to a specific fixed IP address where the customer will have a mail server waiting to pick it up. If your server is unavailable for a considerable length of time, SMTP will store emails until it is back up and running.
