Following the sale of his corporate entertainment business, Chatters Entertainment, Tim founded the Project Telecom Group in 1987 and managed its development and growth as an independent telecommunications service provider. The company floated on the London Stock Exchange in September 2000 and continued to grow rapidly, achieving revenues of £330m in 2002. In September 2003, the company was successfully sold to Vodafone for £162m. Tim founded Timico in 2004.
Chris has over 25 years' experience in the mobile industry and joined Timico in 2006 from three years at Vodafone UK where he was Director of Enterprise customer management. Prior to this, Chris's roles include five years as a Director of Project Telecom plc and a further 14 years at Vodafone in both sales and marketing roles.
Trefor has worked in the emerging field of VoIP for over ten years. He was Assistant Vice President of NGN technology strategy at Mitel Corporation before founding online VoIP retailer ETphones. Trefor was for 4 years a member of the Board of Directors of the SIP Forum. Tref now serves on the Industrial Panel of the University of Wales School of Informatics and is also on the council of the UK Internet Telephony Service Providers Association (ITSPA) and the Internet Services Providers' Association (ISPA).
Jonathan qualified as a chartered accountant in 1984 with Peat Marwick. In 1986 he joined Stag Furniture plc and subsequently became Group Company Secretary and then Group Finance Director. From 1996 until 2001, Jonathan was CEO of Elit Group, one of the largest manufacturers of men's formal wear in Europe and since then he has become a Director, investor and Chairman of a number of small and medium size businesses. Jonathan was a founding shareholder of Project Telecom.
Geoff Smith is leading the Timico Business Transformation Programme to deliver optimised business processes and professional accreditations, underpinned by a new technology platform that will enable Timico’s plans for growth and enhance the customer experience. He brings 25 years of business and IT management experience, gained primarily with Willis in the Insurance sector where he held a variety of senior roles in the UK and in North America. As Customer Service Director for Willis North America, he also led Willis’ Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan in the aftermath of 9/11.
Neil Armstrong is leading the Timico marketing team to drive the growth of Timico’s connectivity, hosting and mobile portfolio for businesses across the UK. He is an industry veteran having led product marketing for BT Wholesale, launched the UK’s first consumer LLU broadband product at UK Online and held the position of Products & Marketing Director at Plusnet where he won 9 out of 11 uSwitch Broadband awards and the ISPA Best Consumer ISP award. Neil joined Timico following a period of interim roles with Rackspace and BSkyB.
Leading IT, technical and operational staff, Calum has overall responsibility for the design, management and delivery of Timico’s technology infrastructure, to provide and support our customers’ business critical services. Prior to joining Timico Calum held a variety of technical roles at Cable and Wireless and Verizon. He latterly spent 12 years working for Siemens Communications, where he was a member of the Siemens Global Steering Group for VoIP solutions and spent 7 years as CTO of what became Solution 1 IS Ltd.
